There aren’t many things I consistently believe. One of them is that in almost any scenario, it takes next to nothing to get people to join you in chanting USA! USA! USA!

Last night leaving the rodeo, I successfully led two train cars in chanting USA! USA! USA! for no apparent reason. It might have been that we just listened to several hours of country music, were at a national BBQ tournament or that most people were at some stage of inebriation. I’d like to think it was the timing. And you can tell right away whether or not the chant is going to stick. If you can get one or two other people to pick it up right away your odds are good.

I wouldn’t recommend going out looking to start the chant. But if you find yourself in a situation where you are loving life and think “Man, this is awesome and America is awesome” you can probably pull it off.
